Frances Right

A revolutionary of her time, Frances Right (1795-1852) was born in Dundee and was a social reformer, author and lecturer. She travelled to America to campaign for the abolition of slavery. She also established the Nashoba Commune, a self-sufficient colony consisting of emancipated slaves that she had bought in order to free.
