Valley News Live – protecting sexual predators and exploiting survivors since at least 2014
FARGO – In 2014 Valley News Live ran a human interest story about a war veteran who was facing a threat of eviction. In this story slanted to garner sympathy for this predator, Valley News Live failed to include that this individual is a registered sex offender.

Fargo news source protects serial sexual predator (audio of admission included)
A news outlet in the Fargo community has made the unusual decision to protect known serial rapist, child molester, and convict Cole Mooridian by removing a story they did on Mooridian which ran in April 2021.

More than four years ago, Carl Martinek owed me the courtesy of a phone call. I had filed a report with Valley City Police regarding a case of sexual assault on June 4, 2017 and as the standing Barnes County States Attorney, it fell to him to prosecute or dismiss the case.

There is darkness in the valley
Valley City is a small community nestled in the heart of the Sheyenne River Valley. Being surrounded by beautiful landscapes, one would assume the community is just as beautiful too. However, whatever potential for beauty it might have once held, Valley City has been corrupted by the darkest of evils – pedophilia, rape, molestation, and murder.

Matthew John Hager is a Rapist
On the night before Christmas Eve, I went to visit someone I had thought was a friend from my youth. We attended kindergarten together. We went to the same elementary school. His mom Pat Hager was my Sunday School teacher one year at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wyndmere. I may have gone to his home with friendly intentions, but his own intentions were anything but friendly.

Reasons you should believe rape survivors
In my court hearing against rapist Aaron Lamb this past week, he called his ex-wife to the stand as a witness. Lamb also made reference to another person I had considered a friend, a fellow feminist, and an ally in the fight against rape culture. Third, he referenced a friend who had for a time in 2017 helped me to escape my marriage to a mortally-violent man. It breaks my heart that despite all the awareness spread by movement like #MeToo and #TimesUp that still some people (even people close to a survivor) still stubbornly and with great cruelty choose to side with the rapist instead of the people he has victimized.

Lamb lies in court
When it comes to getting justice for rape survivors – the amount of time, effort, and emotional turmoil we are subject to is ridiculous. Were it not so traumatic, I would find it laughable.
