The final hour

In this final hour as I await my car and driver to transport me to the Cass County Courthouse, I feel butterflies bouncing around in my empty stomach. I spent the morning vomiting foam due to anxiety over facing rapist Aaron Michael Lamb in court. I am nervous… but I am not afraid.

Richard Kodadek is a rapist and a wife beater

Since my 2013 wedding to Richard Lee Kodadek (DOB 01/03/1981), I have been struggling to recover from a traumatic brain injury I sustained as a result of that relationship. Granted, I did not know this is what I was struggling with until several years later. I was told repeatedly by many doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and my husband himself that I was “just” wrestling with depression, anxiety, and mood instability. The fact of the matter is that in a single day, my entire personality had changed and nobody close to me – not even Richard Kodadek – seemed to take notice.

Not just another Wednesday morning!

I awoke Wednesday morning to a surprise I had never expected to receive. Aaron Lamb, renowned sexual predator and businessman, had made an attempt to call me at 3am the morning of December 1, 20201. So I did what any savvy rape survivor would do – I call my local dispatch center to report the harassment to my local police department.

Aaron Lamb is a Rapist

Aaron Michael Lamb (DOB 02/14/1975) is a sexual predator and a rapist. I was not his first victim and will surely not be his last. He raped me in my own bed one April night in 2021. I thought he was someone who could be trusted, but I was very wrong.

Should I report rape?

LonelyIt’s an awful shame that’s even a question. We don’t question if we should report a burglary, a car crash, or any other type of assault. But unfortunately, rape falls into its own unique category. A survivor of a sexual assault needs to consider many factors when it comes to reporting.

He’s just that kind of guy

Richard Lee Kodadek

He is charming… he is kind and empathetic… he is generous – or at least he makes the effort to appear that way to the public.

He’s a “regular joe” – the kind of guy who donates his time on a Friday night after a long work week because he has a friend whose daughter has a brain tumor and the local Shriner’s are hosting a benefit for her.

But he’s also the kind of guy who raped his wife.

The girl I would do anything for – update coming soon

It has been more than one year since I saw her last.

She is still in the custody of known rapist – Cole Mooridian. He left her bedroom door open while he raped her babysitter in their home in June 2017. While there is little more I can do to help her, the one thing I can do is write.

On being “lucky”

I am a survivor.

I have survived not one – but two sexual assaults.

I have survived the loss of my babies, Alexandra and Frances.

I have survived the loss of my dear friend Jennifer.

I’ve also survived three car crashes, four job losses, and high school.

Yet, I still consider myself a “lucky” survivor of sexual assault.
