Yesterday morning (02/04/2013) Mom and I made a trip into Bismarck so that Mom could testify on House Bill 1426. Before Mom could testify, however, she had to have the written version hole-punched with a special hole puncher that made particularly large holes so that when it was put in the record book it would turn the page easier.

I have recently been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. It is an aptly named “disease” – though it is not a mental illness. It is a normal reaction to a traumatic life event.

1.    Be the kind of person they can turn to.
2.    Encourage them to seek therapy.
3.    Be an “active” participant in their recovery.
4.    NEVER make light of therapy or the work they are doing.
5.    Make sure you have help yourself!
